Dream Man by Linda Howard

Someone ask for this book, here it goes...

Synopsis form fictiondb.com

Marlie Keen was trying to lead a quiet, ordinary life. She thought the knowing--the clairvoyance that allowed her to witness crimes as they happened--had been destroyed in the nightmare of her past. Then one night it returned with a vengeance, and she desperately needed to find someone to make it stop .

Detective Dane Hollister of the Orlando police department had never met anyone like Marlie. He had doubts about her clairvoyance, but there was no doubt how much he desired her. Her soft, sweet scent set his blood afire, and he wanted to wrap her in his arms and chase the sadness from her eyes. To Marlie, Dane was all heat and hard muscle, and he made her body come alive as it never had before. But not even she could foresee where their passion would lead: a hungry quest for the elusive, dreamy ecstasies of love ...and a dangerous journey into the twisted mind of a madman who would threaten their happiness and their lives ....

The Prize by Julie Garwood

Well, another book from Julie Garwood.
I post it because it's a request.

When I was reading this book, the first thing I thought was 'Oh... the time setting is old, well because it 1066'. Then when I had read more than 5 pages, I enjoyed it.

Why?
Maybe because their culture is different from the previous book, so that the character is quite 'eye caching'. It's fun! I laugh enough...

Lucky Penny by Catherine Anderson

Well, I love this book because I found this family's story is really 'wonderful'...

At those time (this is historical romance), when all the option for a single mother is limited. She must keep her wit, to make a do.

When a miracle happen tho those two (mother and daughter), wonderful and funny things happen.

I laugh...
I smile...
and I cry...
when I was reading this book...

Here the synopsis from fictiondb:
To support her orphaned niece, impoverished Brianna O'Keefe accepts work with a Colorado rancher. To guard herself from unwanted attention, she resorts to a harmless little lie: that she's married to a Denver gold miner named David Paxton. But when her "husband" shows up, Brianna is stunned-not the least by her desire...

Well, when I was coming home as always I look around for books at my favorite bookstore. Well, there I bought a novel from Julie Garwood.

At first, I feel kind of funny because it seems a little bit off (at the time I have no idea, why is that). Then, after I read long enough, I am quite enjoy it (then, I understand the things that off is 'the expression' on it, why? you will get a little different meaning altogether when you read the original words "in English" to the translated ones "in Bahasa Indonesia").

The story and the character is charming, at the setting is wonderful...
Why?
Well, because it choose America at the time where there are still a lot of 'trouble' on it.

The background story? Hmm, I love it!

Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn

Do you remember, 'musical' things happen once a years at Smythe-Smith played by Smythe-Smith Quartet (at Bridgerton series). Do you remember how all the character express their gratitude when the "play" is finished?

Yeah, this one, the point of view comes from the player.
Although many family member have no idea that their play are horrible and none of them have musical talent, this time the quartet itself is different because they realize that INDEED, THEY ARE HORRIBLE AT PLAYING INSTRUMENT.

The only way to get out from the quartet is dying or marrying...

Finding their point of view of  things is amusing. Really, I laugh a lot enough.
I find it's cute...

If you want to read the synopsis, here:

Honoria Smythe-Smith is:
A) a really bad violinist
B) still miffed at being nicknamed "Bug" as a child
C) not in love with her older brother's best friend
D) all of the above

Marcus Holroyd is:
A) the Earl of Chatteris
B) regrettably prone to sprained ankles
C) not in love with his best friend's younger sister
D) all of the above

Together they:
A) eat quite a bit of chocolate cake
B) survive a deadly fever and the world's worst musical performance
C) fall quite desperately in love

It's Julia Quinn at her best, so you know the answer is . . .

D) all of the above

I hope you will enjoy it.

Hourglass by Myra McEntire

Well, now let's take a look on the cover. Isn't it interesting?

Starting by her parent's death, then she "sees" something that shouldn't be seen. Her brother and her guardian, do anything to make it better.
Until, hourglass...

If you want to read the synopsis, here:

One hour to rewrite the past . . .

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back.

So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.

Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?

Full of atmosphere, mystery, and romance, Hourglass merges the very best of the paranormal and science-fiction genres in a seductive, remarkable young adult debut.

It's a wonderful story, how Myra can create some imagination like this ones. I love the story, and I'll be waiting for the second book. Because the greater and more complicated things will appear there.
I hope you enjoy it.
